On the surface they were just comedy spots with product/health benefits. But in 2005, conversations about the importance of sustainable farming hadn’t yet become mainstream. So this started to seed the notion that Ocean Spray wasn’t just a beverage company—it was a grower-owned agricultural cooperative. And it was also one of the original voices in what would soon become a nationwide outcry against the health risks and dangers of soda.
